Ted Bird and Terry DiMonte

Terry DiMonte and Ted Bird reunite on terrestrial radio, leading a new Saturday morning show on by Evanov Lite 106.7 FM (CHSV-FM) Hudson/Saint-Lazare.

One year to the day, DiMonte signed CHOM 97.7 Montreal, Saturday morning with Terry and Ted will debut on May 28 at 9 a.m.

The duo first began working together, co-hosting matinees at CHOM 97.7, in May 1988 until DiMonte left for Calgary. Q107 (CFGQ-FM) in 2008.

“Terry DiMonte and Ted Bird are back where they belong – on the radio together,” said Ted Silver, director of the Lite 106.7 program, in a station announcement. “We are beyond thrilled to host Terry and Ted’s Saturday morning show on Lite 1067. The weekend is about to get better. As a broadcaster, I am happy to have them on our team. As a longtime Terry and Ted fan, I can’t wait to turn on my radio on May 28th.

Bird has been Lite 106.7 FM’s only morning man since the station signed on in 2015, while DiMonte now lives in British Columbia in semi-retirement.

After 14 years apart professionally, DiMonte and Bird reunited last fall with the September launch of their podcast, On hold: the Terry & Ted podcast. They are about to get to work on a second season.

DiMonte said Broadcast Dialog that rekindling that chemistry served, in part, as inspiration for the weekend’s new show. Like the podcast, it will be recorded remotely every Friday afternoon.

“We had so much fun with the podcast that we thought it might be fun to do a weekend show for a Montreal audience and the folks at Evanov agreed,” DiMonte said. “It will be fun for both of us to have a few laughs for an audience over the weekend. Ted and I have been friends for so long and we like to think it comes through the speakers. So let’s go !”
